    Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH) is the leading public research center in Luxembourg for basic, pre-clinical and clinical research in biomedicine and public health. Our clinically-oriented biomedical research activities in Oncology, Infection & Immunity and Population Health encompass the generation of knowledge on the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of diseases with large impacts on public health and the epidemiological surveillance of these diseases.     We seek highly motivated applicants who enjoy working in a stimulating and international environment.

    The selected candidate will:

    • Be in charge of the strategic planning, development, implementation and coordination of clinical research projects related to Oncology aiming at translating science into clinical practice and improving health for patients;
    • Actively participate in the development of the unit and assist the Head of Unit in the implementation of the Performance Contract;
    • Develop visibility of CIEC activities with special focus on oncology (scientific communications); Actively participate in European consortia and grant applications;
    • Provide scientific and medical input in protocol development, CRF design and project plans;
    • Introduce medical expertise at all stages of implementation and evaluation of Clinical Studies in phases I to III (consulting the study team, communication with study physicians, assessment data safety and efficacy; Ensure the achievement of milestones; Risk and Change management, etc.).

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Networking with collaborators and stakeholders in clinical research with a special focus on Oncology.
    • Interview patients and perform study assessments according to study protocol and case report form (CRF).
    • Acquire and store clinical data based on paper CRF and eCRF.
    • Organise public events for information of lay public or medical professionals.
    • Presenting the results on scientific meetings.
    • Writing scientific publications.

    Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

    • Medical degree and experience in the area of oncology.
    • Interest in clinical research studies in general and oncology in particular.
    • In-depth experience in patient care and clinical development.
    • Knowledge of the health and clinical research environment in Luxembourg.
    • Independent, highly motivated and committed.
    • Excellent organisational skills.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing in English and good knowledge in French, knowledge of Luxembourgish/German would constitute an asset.

    Contrat à durée indéterminée (CDI)

    Permanent contract, full time, immediately.
