XI Educational aspects in the education of health workers, patients, and the public : viewpoints from South India, Indonesia and Kenya.
Epilepsy in developing countries. Workshop. Heemstede NLD, 1993/06/25.
Health education of paramedical workers, patients, and the general public is a basic social responsibility of the medical profession, and epilepsy is no exception to this rule.
Intensive training of the health worker can be carried out by didactic lectures, lecture demonstration, videos and simple literature - both at initial stages and as refresher courses.
It is important to verify the results of health education efforts.
The multiple choice type questionnaire used for assessment at the end of the initial training in our Yelandur Rural Epilepsy Control Project is appended (Appendix III).
These teaching methods will have to take into account the socio-cultural ethos and beliefs.
