Traduction en anglais : Quality management in hospitals: some methodical remarks concerning the quality effects of two aspects of a case of truly international significance.
In this article two aspects of a clinical case, known in Germany as the Marion P. case, are adapted to fit into Donabedians systematic of factors of influence on health care quality.
These aspects, case-related communication between doctors on the one hand and between doctors and directly affected persons on the other, are also viewed as specific problems of decision making.
It turns out that in either situation the probability theory based medical decision analysis could have been an important contribution to improve problem transparency, i.e. medical decision analysis could have been used as a tool for quality management in hospitals.
