    Article, Congrès - En anglais

    Drug analysis 1992. Part II. International symposium. Liège (BEL), 1992/05/05.

    Laboratory automation is equipment, instrumentation, software and techniques that are classified into four groups:

    • instrument automation;

    • communications;

    • data to information conversion;

    • and information management.

    This new definition is necessary to understand the role that automation can play in achieving the aims and objectives of a laboratory within its organization.

    To undertake automation projects effectively, a laboratory automation strategy is outlined which requires an intimate knowledge of an organization and the target environment to implement individual automation projects.
