The needs of peaple with serious mental illnesses have dominated much of the debate on reforming community care.
In this article Peter Campbell, who has used mental health services many times in the past, explains, how the reforms could affect people like him.
He welcomes the thinking behing the changes, particularly the idea that people who use community care should take part in planning services, but he warns that implementating the new philosophy might prove very difficult.
