    The use of and experience with visual formats in teaching subspecialties of clinical laboratory science are described.

    Recent research with the Myers-Briggs Type Inventory has indicated that clinical laboratory scientists, as a group, show a strong preference for a structured, detail-oriented, visual learning style.

    Visual formate - drawings that represent and explore subject matter, content, and relationships - are a teaching/learning technique that should be compatible with the laboratorians' preferred learning style.
