  1. Programa de prevencion del dengue epidémico y el dengue hemorragico en puerto rico y las islas virgenes estadounidenses.

    Article - En espagnol

The reinvasion of most tropical American countries by Aedes aegypti, the lack of effective routine mosquito control, increasing urbanization and increased air travel have resulted in hyperendemicity, more frequent epidemics and the emergence of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) in the American region.

In response to the changing epidemiology of dengue, we have developed a broad, community-based, integrated program to prevent major epidemics of DHF, with the emphasis on disease prevention, rather than simply on mosquito control.
