  1. Laboratory intercomparisons on internal dosimetry. II.

    Eight UK laboratories participated in estimating internal doses for tritium, uranium, cobalt and plutonium.

    The estimates were made on real, albeit disguised data sets of urine excretion levels together with some data from personal air samples, faecal excretion levels and body monitoring results.

    The data sets incorporated the biological variations, missing samples and the high limits of detection of some of the techniques.

    The intake patterns were not always available and only minimum guidance could be given of the likely chemical form and particle sizes.

    The results of the intercomparison are presented and compared with the median values and the spread about such values between laboratories.
