  1. Health consequences of contraceptive use and reproductive pattens : summary of a report from the US national research council.

    At the request of the US Agency for International Development, the National Research Council's Committee on Population appointed the Working Group on the Health Consequences of Contraceptive Use and Controlled Fertility to assess the scientific evidence of the health risks and benefits of contraceptive methods and the effects of reproductive patterns (numbers, timing, and spacing of births) on women's and children's health.

    This article reviews the major findings of this report.
