    The relationship between urbanisation and measles control is examined.

    In urban settings in developing regions measles is a disease of particular importance, since it tends to affect children at a younger age and with greater severity than in rural settings.

    A further finding in urban areas, especially peri-urban slums, is the lower measles vaccination coverage rates compared with rural regions.
