  1. Laboratory charges associated with achieving serum theophylline concentrations of 10-20 mug/ml in patients entering two double-blind multicenter clinical trials.

    Article - En anglais

Two hundred thirty-one patients participated in one of two multicenter, double-blind clinical trials of extended-release albuterol versus sustained-release theophylline.

Data from these trials were evaluated to determine the average number of blood samples required to titrate the theophylline dosage to the 10-20 mug/ml range.

For each study site, the standard charge for determining a single serum theophylline level was obtained and the total charge for titration was then calculated.
