Importance of international co-operation and education in decision-support.
In recent years, international study groups have begun to adress specific clinical areas and develop large multi-national databases of information.
However, this type of activity raises serious problems concerning the validity of the guidelines offered, and the quality of the data upon which they are based.
This presentation draws upon experience gained in several large-scale studies supported by Comac BME of the EC and the World Organization of Gastro-Enterology.
