  1. Drug-exposed infants at home: strategies and supports.

    The overall purpose was to identify strategies that foster normal growth and development while reducing, to some degree, the unremitting demands of these infants' care.

    Specifically, the study described specific effects of phencyclidine hydrochloride (PCP) and cocaine on the infants at birth and up to age 1 year, and identified an intervention program to assist caregivers to provide the most beneficial environment for these irritable, unconsolable infants.
