Radiological assessment of the consequences of the disposal of high level radiactive waste in sub-seabed sediments.
The results of this radiological assessment thus indicate that the disposal of high level radioactive waste in subseabed sediments is radiologically an acceptable option.
This statement holds true as far as the assumptions, models and data used in the calculations can be validated.
Since, in many cases, conservative assumptions or data were used in this assessment, it is likely that future research will show that the consequences of this disposal option may be even smaller than those described here.
