Traduction en anglais : Cryptosporidium and Giardia in water: Analysis, frequency of occurrence and importance as parasites.
The article reviews the outbreaks caused by the two parasites to date, the methods for their isolation and identification, the spread of Giardia and Cryptosporidium with water and sewage, the occurrence in animals and the effectiveness of water treatment and desinfection.
Operators of water treatment plants supplied by surface water which is not subjected to subsurface passage or slow sand filtration are faced with the question of whether their treatment methods are adequate for removal of the cysts/oocysts or Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
