  1. Analytical approaches to the monitoring of toxicological levels of cadmium in environmental samples.

    Typical values for the concentration of cadmium in a range of environmental samples (atmospheric, aquatic, soil and food) and in specific organs from non-exposed and occupationally exposed individuals are presented.

    The toxicology of chronic and acute exposure to cadmium is briefly described.

    Approaches to sample preparation, preconcentration, speciation studies and quantitative analysis for environmental and clinical samples are compared and typical detection limits given for a number of techniques.
