Stress is now recognized as an occupational hazard and it is incumbent on all employers to carry out an assessment in order to assess the risk to health.
A stress audit would be an appropriate tool to use.
An audit should concentrate on organizational issues.
Most audits use a questionnaire and it is sensible to use one which has already been validated.
Results should be fed back to the employer in a form which is easily understandable and which contains clear recommendations for action.
A repeat audit after one year is advised.
