    NFC Management holds in high regard the safety, health and welfare of the workers as well as environmental protection and intends to make the work place as safe as reasonably possible and utmost importance is given for prevention of accidents.

    With this intention NFC Management made a separate Safety Engineering Division in 1979.

    To realise the objectives of accident prevention Safety Engineering Division consisting of qualified safety professionals in Industrial Safety and experienced personnel drawn from different engineering disciplines are working in the division.

    As a part of accident prevention NFC Safety Committee comprising of experts at senior levels as well as representatives of supervisors and workmen reviews a) Safety programme and their implementation. b) Technical guidance on safety matters. c) Investigale, analyse accidents unusual occurrences and make recommendations. d) Periodically monitor the implementation of recommendations.

    Safety Engineering Division enforces the various statutory requirements, some of which are : a) Atomic Energy Act, 1962 b) Atomic Energy (Factories) Rules, 1988 c) Radiation Protection Rules, 1971.
