Traduction en anglais : Are useful the food handling hygiene courses ?
The aim of this study was to asses if the current courses on food handling hygiene improve the knowledge about this topic ; these courses are compulsory to obtain legal permission for handling food in public facilities.
Every four years this permission has to be renewed.
A questionnaire was passed before and after the course. 161 participants were included in the study group.
Age, sex and if participants had passed a previous course was studied.
The mean age for the studied group was 33 years ; a higher proportion of women and of people who participated for the first time was observed.
With respect to the first questionnaire, in the second one an increase of 60% of people who passed the exam was obtained, which was attributable to the course.
This improvement was similar for new and old participants.
An important increase on food handling hygiene knowledge was observed after the present course, but the similar results for new and old participants suggest a small utility in the long term.
