Approach of the indoor air quality characterization in three specific buildings.

Three buildings with various activities (a swimming pool, a school and a nursery) were monitored in order to characterize the indoor air quality.
For this purpose, some French health indices were calculated.
For each building, continuous measurements of characteristic pollutants of the indoor and outdoor environment (CO, CO2, HCHO, TVOC and NOx) and other physical parameters (temperature, relative humidity) were done during one week.
Also, we do surveys to the occupants using interviews and queries.
Coupling of measurements and surveys allow us to compare the indoor air quality as defined by the indices and pollutants concentrations with the one perceived by the occupants.
Finally, the limits of indoor air quality indices for our buildings are discussed and three main factors (TVOC, CO2, humidity) are suggested to characterize the indoor air quality.
