The clinical « Curricula » of Tübingen are sequences of interdisciplinary lessons, each of which concentrates on a special organ system or syndrome.
All disciplines providing relevant information to the topic were integrated.
In the basic « Curricula », which is held in groups of 20 students, diseases are discussed which are important for understanding fundamental pathophysiological and pathobiochemical backgrounds.
The lessons are synchronised with practical courses, like the training of physical examination and the experiments of clinical chemistry.
Thus, early in the clinical studies medical students are meant to acquire satisfactory knowledge of pathophysiology and of diagnostic and therapeutic principles as well as to train integrated diagnostic processes.
Running « en bloc » for a period of two weeks, the « curricula » promise to be most convenient for learning and teaching.
Our new concept of teaching is translated into practice step by step and well directed.
