  1. Airborne fungi and their secondary metabolites in working places in a compost facility.

    Article - En anglais

The present study investigates in detail the exposure to airborne fungal spores in working places in compost facilities.

The fungal species composition in the air is compared with the spectrum of microbial metabolites with regard to the physiological properties of different fungal species.

The results indicate that the spectrum of microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) and the production of mycotoxins can be specific for certain species.

In addition to the pathogenic and allergological relevance, the fungi may have different toxicological health impacts.
