DUA-IV International Congress of the Dutch Urological Association. Maastricht, NLD, 1997/11/05.
Attention is drawn to the fact that neurourology should be a regular subspecialty within urology.
The urologist should consider himself an organ specialist for the lower urinary tract, meaning that he has the knowledge and the skills to perform diagnostic procedures, as well as all treatment options - either by medication, exercise, operations or electrical stimulation techniques.
Beyond general urological knowledge and skills, the requirements for a neurourologist are briefly outlined.
