Traduction en anglais : Dose management in backfitting Borssele.
Before revision periods in nuclear power plants are started, usually the expected doses of ionizing radiation are estimated together with the departments carrying out the work.
In the course of the revision activities, the doses received are registered and evaluated at a later date.
In 1997, the Borssele Nuclear Power Station was backfitted extensively over a period of four months.
The collective dose level expected was such that a different approach from standard procedures had to be adopted in estimating, recording and continuously evaluating it.
The approach developed for detailed dose planning and daily tracking and dicussion of the estimated and actual dose levels with the persons performing the work has been found to be very useful and to contribute to keeping actual dose levels within the framework of dose estimates.
