  1. De la cocaïne au crack : La naissance d'une épidémie et ses conséquences.

    Article - En français

Traduction en anglais : Crack epidemia in France : Onset and consequences.

Although use of crack cocaine is a relatively recent development, it has already been shown to be highly addicting and associated with numerous medical prolbems as revealed by this brief history of cocaine use over the past century in the United States.

Treatment of compulsive users is a difficult task ; behavioral treatments are successful in about half of the cocaine addicts requesting treatment.

There is a great deal of interest in findint a medication that will improve the treatment of cocaine addiction, but so far no medication has been consistently successful in controlled clinical trials.
