1 Clinicians need to be more sensitive to the various social contexts of their clients. 2 If parents see their children as basically mentally well, but do not like their behavior, it is unlikely that the family will eventually come to see that the decision to hospitalize their child was a good one. 3 Instead of first asking « Does this kid need to be hospitalized ? » the better question is « Can good benefit come to this subject without hospitalization ? ».
