  1. Development of a Korean decision making support system for a nuclear emergency.

    In case of a radiological emergency following the release of radioactive materials into the environment, it is necessary to analyse the accident situation rapidly and to evaluate radiation dose and its radiological consequences.

    Protective actions and countermeasures should be provided for the decision maker as soon as possible, and a computerised emergency response support system is required.

    A prototype of a Computerized Technical Advisory System for the Radiological Emergency (CARE) for accident management in case of a radiological emergency is presented.

    The system collects emergency response data, analyses the data, assesses the projected doses and recommends protective action guides for the protection of the public.
