The advantages and disadvantages of fiber composites in the context of requirements of construction industry are reviewed, and ways in which they could be introduced are considered.
The key requirements for the use of composites in the construction industry in significant quantities are the establishment of internationally accepted standards for the production of composites, the development of internationally accepted test methods appropriate for structural elements, and the development of internationally accepted design standards.
