  1. Dose implications of adopting the CAC standard for the control of food in Hong Kong.

    Based on several assumptions on food consumption and contamination, the dose implication in using the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) standard for the control of food in Hong Kong following a nuclear accident has been studied.

    Calculations are performed on six likely contaminated food types and on three radionuclide groups.

    Results show that the maximum individual doses arising from the ingestion pathway are most probably below 0.2 mSv.

    This dose is so low that it would not cause any serious health problem to the people of Hong Kong.
