Continuous quality improvement activities are mandated by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and the College of American Pathologists.
In a recent Needs Assessment Survey of neuropathologists undertaken by the College of American Pathologists, in cooperation with the American Association of Neuropathologists, neuropathologists indicated the need for information regarding continuous quality improvement for neuropathology laboratories.
