Traduction en anglais : Health impacts of the Chernobyl reactor disaster.
The consequences of the reactor disaster in Chernobyl have been discussed intensively by the public and among experts again and again in recent years.
Many comments have been expressed which often were not based on the scientific findings and clinical experience of radiation research and radiation applications, e.g. in medicine.
This applies not only to the media but also to many a scientific and technical journal.
Today, ten years after the reactor disaster, it may be possible to assess more effectively the consequences to health, and answer the question as to the damage to health, caused or expected to be caused by the releases of radioactive materials and the radiation associated with them.
