A software tool developed for modeling the decisions people make in emergency situations in offshore environments is described.
The tool was developed using C+and runs on a PC under MS Windows.
The development of this tool is considered as an important step in the introduction of improved approaches to the evaluation of offshore safety management.
To validate the decision model, additional data have been acquired by interviewing offshore personnel and monitoring mustering exercise.
Following this, an offshore emergency scenario has been simulated.
Initial results were very encouraging.
