  1. Condoms on the ward : sexual health education in psychiatric treatment settings.

    Article - En anglais

HIV has prompted major review of sexual health education.

Recent arguments in favour ofmaking condoms freely available on psychiatric wards have been gathering momentum.

There are fundamental changes in attitude towards sexuality and sexual health education in society, and this has prompted a reevaluation of clinical practice.

This paper begins by reflecting on the social and cultural impact of HIV on sexuality in contemporary society before examining how this influences the ward environment.

The paper reviews the experience of having condoms freely available on a residential in-patient drug dependency unit.
