Traduction en anglais : Sanitary risk associated with the presence of bacterial growth inhibitors in cow milk.
The inadequate use of antibiotic and other antimicrobial agents in dairy farm management determines the appareance in milk of bacterial growth inhibitor (BGIs) residue.
We have intended to know the actual conditions in wich the farms produce cow milk in a region of Andalucia country, looking for determinate the importante of BGIs residue, according to the information supplied by the herdsmen's experience and prevention.
We have performed an inquire using a model by McEwen et al., 1989.
This questionnaire, coming from Canada, have been adapted to the peculiarities of farming in Cordoba.
It consist of 20 questions, asked to 103 farmers, about 4,6% of the whole of the associated members of a cooperative group.
The results, we have obtained, shown that there is not enough knowledgement about the BGIs substances.
Farmers do not sufficiently prevent the importance of this risk for Public Health and they do no think over the shortage in their economic incomes that will come from the sanitary damage, when EU regulation on MRL will be imposed.
For these reasons, we propose to perform several training activities to increase the security level of sanitary management practices and to establish the improvement of analytical monitoring programms « on premises ».
