Americans with disabilities act. Annual Meeting. Section Meeting on public health entled : Optometric responsibility. Boston MA USA, 1993.
I have been asked to speak about the spirit and intent of the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
It is not a topic that I can be very scholarly about, because one cannot talk about the spirit through research.
You can only talk about the spirit and intent through feelings and perceptions, and experience.
That is what I want to do today.
I describe the context of the ADA so that the following speakers can talk more directly to you about your professional involvement.
I hope that you will be able to apply what I say to their presentations.
